Training Volume

Training Volume

The scientific literature says that it’s the most significant metric related to muscle fatigue.

If Volume raises, fatigue does so, if it lowers, fatigue (should) do so.

Taking this into consideration it can help us to manage when we can load, and eventually how much we can load before reaching the point of diminishing return. And when we have to deload, and consequently how much we should deload to reach the best performance for the big events.

The problem in our sport? Calculating ALL the volume we do, with split runs, full runs, weighted and unweighted it can happen that we miss something.

BUT NOW! We can measure it all, monitoring every run of every type, split runs, full runs, weighted, unweighted, no matter what. We can now measure the total training volume for every session and evaluate how it relates to your best and mean times.

This tool will level up how you manage your trainings to bring even more quality into them.

Do you want to know how the volume moved in the long term? Watch the weekly volume graph to understand how your performance evolves not only session by session but even week by week, a more stable metric to understand the training effect.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Training is the epicenter of the performance, and the more we know of how we react to a certain training stimulus, the more we can understand how to administrate the training variables to get the best out of our workouts.

Try to collect all the data from your trainings, not only the speed ones, but even the weights sessions and co. Register the volume, intensity, frequency and the other variables that you consider important, once you have all of them, calendarize it, giving a score for every week of the period you want to anlyze.

Once you have all the parameters, try to understand how they affect you capability of tolerate a higher training volume and how they reflect to your performance on the wall, at that point, you have a complete view of how you tend to respond to a set of stimulis, giving you the chance to manage them at your best and get to your top performance.
