The average time

The average time

Average? Nobody wants to be average! Expecially in our sport in which the fastest usually wins, not the average one!

And so, why we should analyze the average data o a specific parameter? I’ll tell it to you in this article.

The average values of the reaction time, best time and the average o the average times of the trainings are metrics that drives our training interventions.

Have we tried to chip away some cents of seconds in the last two months? We should see a trend in either the best or the average time that is bringing us to lower times, even by a little bit, but we have to see it! Unless probably some training variables are not being managed at its best to let us perform at our real best.

Have we done 1 heavy month? It is normal to see the numbers growing, but we know it objectively right now and even better, we can choose how much they can grow before taking a step back from that loading period.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes you lose bit cents of second, and for that reason monitoring the average of your reaction times gives you the opportunity to understand if you need some specific work on that aspect or if you should continue with your usual training.

Making a good time can be useful but maybe staying always too close to your best time gives you the opportunity to understand if you need to put down seconds or grow consistency. The average difference between these metrics gives you a quick insight about how you’re dealing with the fast runs and the controlled ones.

Play with those metrics and take always into consideration what are you doing in that specific training period, we can guarantee you that you will take home some super useful insights!
